EchoHeart: The World's 1st Transvaginal Fetal Doppler Probe
A nervous first-time mother comes in with a positive home pregnancy test .... A woman in early pregnancy with some risk factors in her life.... A woman with a history of miscarriages who desperately wants to hear that heartbeat.... A woman experiencing some spotting or cramping, needing reassurance that the heartbeat is still there.... It's Friday afternoon and there's no ultrasound available. . .
EchoHeart is there for you. Many of your patients are anxious for various reasons, and they worry when you can't hear their baby's heartbeat. Early detection of a strong, rhythmic heartbeat provides peace of mind to women - especially those with a history of difficult pregnancies or exhibiting symptoms of potential miscarriage, such as cramping or spotting. If unable to detect fetal heart tones with an abdominal Doppler, the only other option has been ultrasound imaging which is expensive and often inconvenient. This often requires scheduling an appointment with a sonographer at another facility or on another day.
The wait can be excruciating.

The EchoHeart Transvaginal Probe (TVP) fetal Doppler is the only product of its kind on the market today. It was developed by a mom-to-be Medical Technologist who worked in the Obstetrics field, and who knew what peace of mind hearing the early fetal heart tones could bring to her and thousands of other pregnant patients. Detection of a strong and regular fetal heartbeat not only provides comfort, but also means the chances of a miscarriage have dramatically decreased. With closer proximity to the uterus, the EchoHeart TVP fetal Doppler can detect the fetal heart tones at very early stages of pregnancy. It has been especially effective in assisting OB/GYN physicians, midwives, nurses, physician assistants, and emergency room staff in detecting early fetal heart tones and heart rates in women whose physiology makes it difficult to get a reading by traditional abdominal methods. Best used for patients that are obese or have a retroverted uterus, the EchoHeart TVP is often able to bring quick and easy peace of mind to both patients and practitioners - including those in the most rural, remote, or even island communities - as many are, here in Maine.

Proximity Aids Detection for Obese & Retroverted Patients
The EchoHeart Transvaginal Fetal Doppler Probe has been especially effective in detecting earlier fetal heart tones in cases of delayed abdominal detection. The EchoHeart TVP is best used in women who are very early gestation, have a retroverted uterus, or are considered to be obese. These women represent a significant portion of women who are pregnant, and they have a disadvantage when traditional abdominal methods are used. Because the EchoHeart Probe is able to gain access nearer to the uterus, these women - previously often unable to hear their fetal heart tone until the second trimester - can hear their baby's heart much earlier than ever before. Many of our patients have commented that having the early peace of mind, as well as the cost saving of repeat fetal heart check ultrasounds, have been invaluable.

Easing Early Miscarriage Fears
Although spotting and cramping occur frequently in normal pregnancy, a woman experiencing these symptoms often fears she is miscarrying. Detection of a strong, regular fetal heartbeat can bring immediate peace of mind and often eliminates the need for further costly testing -- be it bloodwork (serial hCG levels) or follow-up sonograms.
Note: The EchoHeart fetal Doppler Probe is not a replacement for ultrasound. It is designed only to provide audible detection of fetal heart tones. In cases of suspected ectopic or other pregnancy complications, ultrasound is recommended.
